Project Override:
Project Override aims to bring out the best in their music. Often described as a crossover alternative rock band, the six versatile members are always experimenting with different genres of music. Their individual backgrounds come from Soca, Calypso, RnB and of course Rock music. They have already performed at numerous watering holes, which include: Woodford Cafe, J'Malones and The Rise in Chaguanas. Project Override is a musical band with a difference, having volunteered their skills to help others in need; from schools to religious organizations and even other upcoming artistes. Despite being in the local limelight, their expectations are low, for each of them knows how difficult it is to break out in the music industry. For now, the band members are having fun and enjoying the fact that they all are budding musicians.
Jeremy Anil Mangalsingh (Band Leader and Lead Guitarist):
The concept of Project Override was developed by Jeremy over a year ago. Jeremy admits that the band back then was not in good shape at all. He revamped the entire band by creating a managing team and scouting for the youngest and most talented musicians that he could find. He was looking for musicians with vitality, power and a knack for performance. Once found, Jeremy worked hard to come up with an innovative direction for the band. He admits that the band has not found its true direction as yet, but thus far likes where the vibe is going.
Behind Jeremy is 6 years of musical experience, having been apart of a previous rock band by the name of 'Single Recruit.' He also ran his own independent musical production company by the name of 'Infinite Limit', where he mostly produced his own compositions. . This company is now defunct but owes a lot to it for the musical experience that he has now. Jeremy is also a professional photographer, working along side the local make up brand Ambrosia Cosmetics. He has made milestones in the photography field, having shot many local models and creating numerous portfolios.
Joshua Boodram (Lead Vocals)
Joshua Boodram was scouted after the original lead singer left abruptly late last year. Thus far Joshua's dedication has been nothing short of relentless. He has performed in front of 20,000 people on several occasions and brings to Project Override a wealth of performing experience. At a very tender age of 17. Joshua has shown Jeremy that big things come in small packages. Having successfully re-launched the band with the other band members at the Rise in Chaguanas, Joshua has proven that he is ready to take things to the next level. This is Joshua's first band experience and he is enjoying it 100%.
Joshua Brizan (Keyboardist and Vocals)
Joshua is the newest edition to the band, having only joined mere months ago. Joshua worked alongside Jeremy in the photography field, specializing in party promotions. He always was inspired by Jeremy and his musical efforts, thus his addition to the band came as no surprise. Joshua also provides back up vocals for the band. With a voice for RnB, Joshua provides that soulful touch to each performance. Most may describe Joshua as awkward, sporting his Elmo or Cookie Monster jersey on random occasions. Joshua often exclaims that he is born to be different. .
Ricardo Abraham (Rhythm Guitarist and Vocals)
Ricardo has extensive experience volunteering with his church and has developed skills that are comparable to international standards. At age 22 he carries skill and maturity hand in hand, and makes valid oppositions to keep the band challenged. Quite accustomed to the screaming girls, Ricardo tries to ignore the attention. He is often described as the sexy factor of the band, and we are unsure of whether he likes it or not (lol).Ricardo is fully trained in many forms of Martial Arts and is a qualified classical Indian dancer. He is known to have one of the best 'Shiva' poses in Trinidad and Tobago. Music has always been a part of Ricardo's life and its something that he is not going to give up easily.
Nicholas Thomas (Drummer)
Nicholas has been drumming for a mere two years and many have declared him as a born natural on the drums. At age 18, he has been tearing up the drums before even owning a trap set. At a younger age he would flip over buckets in his yard and simply bang away. Nicholas brings that soca vibe into the band. He currently plays with the Exodus Steel Orchestra. Nicholas has already had international performing experience, having been to Barbados and the United States representing Trinidad and Tobago. An extra curricular buff at heart, Nicholas had dabbled in cricket and football, but gave it all up to focus his energies on his drums. If he is not practicing with Project Override, he is practicing with Exodus. He thanks god that both rehearsal spaces are very close to each other.
Nicholas Nassib (Bassist)
Nicholas is currently a 17 year old student at Hillview College with intentions of delving into Information Technology or Geography. He has been playing the bass for two years and hails from the band '71 mistakes'. With a distinct passion for rock, Nicholas joined Project Override because of the high spirits and teamwork that the bad brings together. Nicholas ironically admires the other Nicholas in the band, for his determination to correct mistakes and giving 100% at band rehearsals. When Nicholas isn't studying the maps of the world, he enjoys dabbling with the mechanics of a car. He admits he still has a lot to learn, but does odd jobs for his friends and family when the opportunity arises.
