Trinidad born Nicky Minaj shoots her fourth video

Award-winning hip hop artiste Nicki Minaj arrived in Trinidad yesterday to shoot her fourth video production, “Pound the Alarm” from her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

She was also welcomed by Minister of Arts and Multiculturalism Dr Lincoln Douglas, Tourism Development Company Limited chairman Rajiv Shandilya and chief executive officer of the TT Film Company, Carla Foderingham, at the Piarco International airport’s VIP Lounge, where she was presented with a copper replica of the steelpan.

She is in Trinidad to recruit 500 extras for her video which has a Carnival theme. Hundreds answered the casting call at the Paddock, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain on Tuesday.

The video, which will be filmed today from 11 am, is expected to feature a street parade scene. Ace pan arranger Len “Boogsie” Sharp and Woodbrook Playboyz are also expected to be part of the shoot, which will take place between Jerningham Avenue and Stanmore Avenue.
